Retired Indian Jerseys and All-State Players

#45 - Alan Crews (1964-68)

When Alan finished his high school career he was the all-time leading scorer, surpassing the old mark by 578 points.

He led his team to a Regional title and 3 consecutive Conference crowns. He was a large part of the first team in school history to ever post an undefeated conference season.

He was a 3 time All-State selection under the 1 class system. At 6'8" he went on to play collegiately at the University of Illinois and later transferred to SIU.

#42 - Louis Baxter (1968-1972)

Louis finished his high school career with 1,757 points. At that time he was second only to Alan Crews.

He led his team to two Regional Titles, two Conference Championships and a "Sweet 16" appearance in 1972. He was a 2 time All-State selection.

He continued his basketball career at a Jr. College in Coffeyville, Kansas and later played 2 years at Millikin University. At one time he was one of the career scoring leaders there.

#40 - Darrell Anders (1979-83)

Darrell passed away during the basketball season of his senior year in high school of spinal meningitis. The gym at DHS is named after him.

He scored 1,141 points and probably would have finished in the top 3 or 4 all-time, had he been able to finish his high school career. He also led his team to 2 Regional Titles and was All State in 82-83 and Illinois' Mr. Basketball.

He had committed to play at University of Tennessee at Martin prior to his senior year.

#34 - Monte Kuhnert (1982-86)

Monte finished his career as the all-time leading scorer at DHS with 2,358 points. He led his teams to back-to-back Regional and Sectional Titles and appearances in the "Sweet 16" in '85 and '86.

He was twice named to the All State team as a junior and senior.

He went on to play collegiate ball at Northern Iowa University and Southern Illinois Edwardsville.
