QB KING NOT WORRIED

Hey sports fans: Tampa Bay QB Shaun King hopes to be first rookie since Pat Haden (1976 vs. Cowboys) to lead his team to a postseason victory.

Tomorrow, King and the Bucs face the Redskins in Tampa. The 22-year-old King has been singled out for his confidence and coolness. Receiver Bert Emmanuel has nicknamed the signal-caller "Smoothie King."

In an article in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, King attributes this calmness to his relationship with God. "I know I have a job to do. I'll go out and do my best. I'm not afraid to mess up. I'm not afraid to fail. My father has a saying, `If you're worried, you're not praying,' and I pray a lot."

So how are you doing with God? Jesus told us, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:33-34).

Worry may be a pretty good indicator of how our prayer life is going. Are you praying your worry away? Don't be afraid to fail. Be confident!

God has promised to take care of you. Seek Jesus first. Win or lose, succeed or fail: God will take care of the rest.

Christ my Coach,
