TIGER WOODS KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR?

After his incredible run of 6 consecutive PGA golf tournament wins ended in mid-February, Tiger Woods has proven he doesn't actually walk on water. The best Tiger has managed since his streak ended is two second-place finishes. Poor Tiger and the Nike folks must be really stressing out.

Actually, even in those three losing efforts, Tiger's earnings totaled more than $800,000. In fact at the age of 24, having been on the PGA Tour only since August 1996, he's become the PGA Tour's all-time money winner with over $13 million. Tiger Woods is simply an incredible golfer.

Now just imagine that Tiger Woods decided to take a break from the PGA Tour (perhaps to deal with his recent 'losing streak'). Imagine he decided he wanted to help you with your golf game instead.

Don't even play golf? What if the world's greatest golfer wanted to spend the next year with you teaching you the game? He would coach you, practice with you, correct your grip, train you to read the greens. If nothing else, wouldn't it be great just to be hanging out with Tiger Woods every day? I'll bet spending time with Tiger Woods could even help improve my lowly golf skills.

Now consider this. While Tiger Woods has mastered golf, Jesus Christ mastered life. Jesus understands your problems, challenges, and temptations. The Bible speaks of Jesus' experience with life. "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin" (Hebrews 4:15).

But Jesus doesn't merely sympathize with you in your weaknesses; he wants you to learn life from him. He wants to teach you, coach you, and strengthen you. He understands your life better than anyone. He knows what leads to victories and what brings defeat and frustration.

Tiger Woods may not be knocking at your door to help you with your golf game. But you have an offer from the true Master of life. Jesus Christ is present to help you with the challenges and problems you encounter. His invitation is to learn life from the master.

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). Jesus says to you, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29).
